For only the second time in NAIFA-Texas history, the son of a former president was installed to lead the organization. Stephen M. Ehlers, LUTCF, was sworn in as the 87^thPresident of NAIFA-Texas during the 2011 Career Conference and Annual Meeting. His father, Robert A. Ehlers, served as NAIFA-Texas (TALU) President 1978-79.

The association’s Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to NAIFA-Texas member and NAIFA Immediate Past President Tom Currey, CLU, ChFC. A slideshow honoring NAIFA-Texas Past Presidents, including Ehlers and Currey, was featured during the 86^th Annual Conference’s culminating event, the President’s Gala.
